ABOUT ABOUT

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. WE WILL BE ACCEPTING MINIMAL WALK INS. THANK YOU.

Join us for the Healthiest State annual conference on May 2, 2017 at the Scheman Building at the Iowa State Center Ames. Professionals gather from across the state of this one-day event.

Registration will open at 8:30am with a light breakfast. Our opening keynote speaker will be Philip Bors from Active Living by Design (ALBD). Phil is an original team member of ALBD, which helped launch the national active living movement. He is currently Technical Assistance Director, providing coaching and technical assistance to communities and funders working to advance health through collaborative active living and food access strategies, with an emphasis on health equity. Phil also works locally within his North Carolina community to help improve healthy transportation, land development, parks, and recreation options for residents in need.

For our luncheon keynote, we are excited to host John Coyle, founder and CEO of The Art of Really Living, who is one of the world's leading experts in resiliency and Design Thinking. John is an NBC Sports analyst, two-time TEDx presenter, and author. He won an Olympic silver medal in speed skating - an achievement he attributes directly to a resilient mindset. John will be speaking on resiliency, and how to draw on your own natural strengths to flourish in the face of adversity.

This year there will be six breakout sessions (three in the morning, three in the afternoon) focused on eat well, move more and feel better. Don't forget to wear your walking shoes as there will be movement incorporated throughout the day!
